CLASSICON Motorwagen & Media GmbH (also referred to here as: “CLASSICON”) observes the legal provisions on data protection. The following data protection guidelines contain important information for you about the data that is collected, processed and used when you use our Internet pages.

These data protection guidelines are governed by our General Terms and Conditions, apply only to information collected online and are not applicable to data collected elsewhere or sources other than this service.

Information collected

CLASSICON collects two categories of information: 1. data relating to the service provided by visitors when they fill in online forms concerning themselves or their vehicle(s) and 2. data collected by us using technology when they visit our website.

However, users may also use our website anonymously. We collect personal data from users only when they voluntarily submit such information to us. Users can always refuse to provide personal information unless it prevents them from using certain features of the Site.

Personal data

CLASSICON may collect personal information from users in a variety of ways, including visiting our website, registering on our website, subscribing to our telegram (newsletter), responding to a survey, filling out a form, sending a message to us, and in connection with other activities, services, facilities and/or sources that we make available on our website.

Personal information is any information that is used to identify an individual, including but not limited to a first and last name, home or other physical address, e-mail address, telephone number or other contact information. CLASSICON only collects this personal data from you if you decide to make it available to us through our service. This information may include, without limitation, your city of residence, postcode, first and last name, credit card number and expiry date when you make a request for our services, bank details, billing address, mobile phone number, e-mail address, information about your vehicle and its history, and any personal information you provide through our service to potential buyers or sellers in your communications. By providing us with your mobile phone number, you agree that we may send you information via text message and/or email to your mobile phone.

If you choose to post content(s) through any of the designated interactive areas of our website, such as the discussion forums, comment fields and social media areas, such posts may be viewed, collected and used by anyone who has access to these areas. CLASSICON is not responsible for any use of such contributions / information by third parties.

CLASSICON may carry out prize draws and other promotional activities. When you participate in these, we will ask you for personal data (such as your name, telephone number, address, date of birth and e-mail address). We will use this information to contact you if you win and we may also use it for marketing and other purposes. We may share this information with all co-sponsors of these raffles. These co-sponsors will be announced in the competitions. We may also share this information with contractors or other service providers or third parties who help us apply our promotional efforts. If you do not want us to collect and share this information requested in forms in the raffles or contests with co-sponsors, please do not participate in these raffles or contests.

We may survey our readers to measure their satisfaction with our service, and to gain more experience of our target audience and how they interact with our services. These surveys may be conducted by market research companies on our behalf. Without your consent, we will not share the personal information you provide in response to a survey with any other company other than the market research company conducting the survey. We will, however, cumulate the information you provide on an anonymous basis with the data of other participants in the survey. We may use and publish this pool of anonymous data without identifying you personally.

CLASSICON also automatically receives and records data on the server such as log files from your browser, including your IP address, cookie information and the page requested.

We may also receive personally identifiable information about you from third parties, including, for example, information about your dealings / transactions, purchase history, relationships with providers of various products and/or services and your use of certain applications. For example, if you connect to our service through a third party provider or log in, e.g. via “Facebook” via “following” or “liking”, add the CLASSICON application, link your account to CLASSICON etc., this third party provider may pass on certain information to CLASSICON about your use of its service. This information may include, but is not limited to Your user ID associated with your account, any information that you have allowed the third party to share with us and any information made public in connection with the service. You should always check your private settings on third party websites and services and adjust them if necessary before linking or merging them with CLASSICON.

Non-personal data“: We also collect information about your interactions with the service in a manner and format that does not identify you as an individual (Non-Personal Data). Non-Personal Information may include, but is not limited to, browser name, type of computer, technical information about the means of connecting to our site, such as the operating system and Internet service providers, and other similar information. We may collect, use and disclose this non-personal information as described below.

Analytical Information: We use third-party analytical equipment that helps us measure the overall amount of data transferred and trends in usage of our service. These devices collect information sent by your browser as part of your request for a web page, including the pages you visit, your browser extensions, your browser height and width, and other information that helps us to improve the service. The third-party analytics services may combine the data collected with data from other Internet sites to improve your experience with our analytics services, but will not use any of the information collected for targeted marketing purposes.

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service of Google Inc. (“Google”). The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is usually transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there. However, in the event that IP anonymisation is activated on this website, your IP address will be shortened by Google within member states of the European Union or in other states which are party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area before this happens.

Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transferred to a Google server in the USA and shortened there.
