Rust-free BMW M3 Sedan (E36) from second ownership with a mileage of less than 64tkm and complete motorsport equipment.
The second version of the M3 was presented by BMW Motorsport GmbH in the summer of 1992, when it had long been apparent on the market that the “new 3 Series” would be a great sales success for the Munich-based company. The three-litre, six-cylinder in-line engine with four-valve technology and the in-house innovative VANOS camshaft control system produced 286 hp, which meant that the new M3 was not only considerably more powerful than its predecessor (E30), but also provided the highest litre output worldwide for a production naturally aspirated engine!
This example was first registered in May 1995 by a 68-year-old gentleman who owned the vehicle for 11 years before it was transferred to the second owner in June 2006. He had the M3 professionally converted for his part-time job as a driving instructor for sports drivers at a company specialising in drift vehicles in Holland. As a BMW 135i Coupé was also available for this purpose, the M3 was rarely used (only 1,500 kms since the conversion) and was finally completely decommissioned for the last few years.
During the conversion, the car received all the motorsport ingredients it needs to be used competitively: in addition to a roll cage from Wiechers and a bucket seat (Sparco 2000 Pro) with a 4-point seat belt from Sabelt, an OMP sports steering wheel, a Wiechers strut brace with Z3 strut mounts, H&R springs, a rear spoiler with DTM centre section and a fly-off handbrake are also installed – guaranteeing maximum driving pleasure. However, the conversion means that the car is no longer road legal and is now purely a “track tool”.
Due to the restrained use of the first owner and the only occasional use of the instructor at sporting events, the M3 presents itself in a very convincing overall condition without any signs of rust, with deep shiny paintwork (which is very unusual for reds after more than 20 years!) and is technically free of defects. The low total mileage of under 64tkm will certainly benefit the next owner. However, the motorsport affinity should be given, as not all dismantled interior parts are still present.
However, if you would prefer to sit on the factory black leather seats, you can still purchase the flawless seats from the second owner separately for an additional fee. In addition, there is an original and very well preserved set of wheels from the M3 Coupé with unused tyres on which the stickers are still attached. If you like the coupé wheel design better, you have the choice to mount this wheel set instead of the M3 sedan wheels.
The BMW starts immediately, runs smoothly and drives absolutely reliably without any abnormalities – just as one has come to expect from well-maintained examples of this indestructible series for three decades! The original on-board folder with all documents is present. When delivered to the buyer, the M3 will receive a new service with replacement of the operating fluids, so that nothing stands in the way of further use on the race track or at sporting events.
BMW’s E36 series, which has matured into a classic, continues to enjoy great popularity, making the good examples rare. For drivers with motorsport ambitions, there is hardly a better price/performance ratio than with the M3. The sedan version, which is lighter than the M3 Coupé, is therefore an option for anyone who has in mind a high-performance sports car with high reliability and the best parts supply that can be used (after retrofitting in everyday life and) for sports purposes.
